Lorik
directed by Alexey Zlobin
starring actors: Michael Poghosyan, Yevgenia Dmitrieva, Irene Ayvazyan, Ani Galstyan, Narek Baghdasaryan
Lorik is a famous theater actor, whose life revolves around theatrical and acting alone. With all of this, he has been captivated by his life in Alice in Wonderland , and he has created a small scene package for Alice’s wonderful world. However, if one day the theater is closed, Lorik does not know how to set himself up, as long as he finds himself in the same wonderful world.
The film director, Alexey Zlobin, for whom this is the first full-length feature film, has made Alice’s adventures in the Armenian environment and a protagonist of a gentleman.
Adventures are taking place in today’s Armenia, which in some ways may seem marvelous if it is not known about the life of this society. “Alice” or Lorik is very appealing to Michael Poghosian, with whom strange things start to happen on the city streets – he advocates in the bodies of different people, and with every new “jump” he has the opportunity to take a new role, a new character, a new stage.
All the cases are nicely linked to one of the interconnected narratives, or the ancient heritage of contemporary Armenia . The director comments on the country’s concerns and pleasures, the daily lives of people, and the difficulties that must be overcome to survive.
“Lorik” is an exciting review of contemporary Armenian society, full of injustice, hope and desire to survive, while portraying it all through playfulness and colorful characters. Who succeeds in making his fairy tale a reality, who does not? It’s worth a look at the PÖFF screen.
“Lorik” is scheduled to take place on December 2 in the framework of PÖFF.
